I recently shared an interesting example of “overfitting” when training large language models.

Overfitting happens when a model learns too much. It is kind of like a student who tries to memorize everything to prepare for a test. When the test comes, the student can’t generalize to answer a new type of question.

This example of overfitting happened when I was trying to train a custom model. I think you might find it quite interesting - Overfitting article.

Google NotebookLM is awesome. Everyone should be using it more than they are.

I took my article on overfitting and I uploaded it to NotebookLM. With one click, I created this podcast. It is a pretty cool way to generate new content.

In some ways, it’s even easier to understand a topic in this dialog format than it is to read an article. I put the dialogue here for you to hear it.
